Microblading is one of the fastest-growing techniques in permanent makeup. It’s a procedure that can dramatically correct or fully reconstruct lost eyebrows. Pigment is manually deposited under the top layer of skin with a special bladed pen. This technique involves drawing individual crisp hair strokes that are more natural-looking than the traditional permanent makeup eyebrow.

Day one of this class is geared toward training the eye to understand facial shapes as well as bone structure. As many of us know our face is not as symmetrical as we would like. Whether one brow bone is more prominent than the other or one side of the face is flatter, this can cause issues with creating the ideal brow shape. During day one of this class, you will learn the history of permanent cosmetics and microblading theory. The fundamentals of color theory, skin types, tonality and face shapes will help you when you finally learn how to measure the eyebrows correctly while using calipers and rulers. Not only will this class provide you with the proper techniques for designing a beautiful eyebrow, but it will also teach you to build fundamental skills while working hands-on. During day one, 3D eye shapes will be provided to show the major differences in eye shapes and to hone your skills in perfecting that shape.s item.

Lots of hands-on practice in hair patterns and proper stroke techniques is a major focus. A clear understanding of pigments, needles, and numbing agents for a seamless procedure will be taught. Lynn La Palermo and her staff of instructors share their wealth of experience and education through theory guiding you to create various shapes and styles of brows. While using 3D practice sheets as well as various blade shapes and thicknesses you will be shown the proper application techniques of microblading. Hands-on practice will ensure that you are comfortable with the tools being used and provide you experience with different products and pigments. End the day with elaboration on sanitation and sterilization, consultation and contraindications, as well as creating the perfect environment for your client.
Hands-on work is essential when perfecting your skills in the beauty industry. That is why day three is focused on working with models. With your instructors by your side to answer any questions you may have, you have the opportunity to practice your skills on a model. Day three and four are exciting because you get to put all of your new knowledge and skills to work! You are encouraged to bring a model to class for you to work on. This is beneficial because you can see your work 30 days after application for a follow-up visit (as you would do it for a usual client).
The Occhi Institute’s teaching philosophy is, "Students learn by doing." With that in mind, day four continues with another model as you continue to hone your techniques, all under the watchful eye of your instructors. Also, included in the final day is time spent discussing marketing your new service. Advertising, social media, promotions, pricing will be covered. A Q&A will be included. To cap off the class, Lynn will spend some time discussing your role in running your business. She will take you through a concise and compelling exercise on “master your skill …master your business." Then the celebration commences!
